Hello. As many know, my son was a normal active individual until a little over 2 weeks ago. He started complaining of a headache and over a 2-week period ended up in Cooper Hospital in a medically induced coma. As of today, Aug 8th, they do not know what the problem is. He started having seizures out of the blue. They are trying to do two things: figure out the cause and figure out how to keep them at bay. Neither has been figured out thus far.

As an Uber driver, and him not being able to work, this is killing me financially. The hospital is close to an hour from me and parking alone is $11 a day . We went from a 3-income home to a 1-income home. My income was the main income. I can only imagine the bills that will be coming in as soon as much has been done to try to figure this thing out. There have been two hospital visits and three hospital stays.

Anything and everything that can be done to help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

*Update: Markus is pretty much the same but they are trying to bring him out the medical coma. Thus far he is not having seizures but he is not awake yet. He flinches here and there but that’s about it. His right arm was swollen so they took an ultra sound and found 2 blood clots. He is now on blood thinners. Monday they will be doing an MRI of his spine because his bladder is not functioning properly and they said he is entirely too young to have those types of problems. I’m just continuing to pray!

Update: August 11,2025….First and foremost, please forgive me if I don’t update everyday. I’m tired physically and mentally. I choose to update here because everyone here will not see a FB post because they come from other platforms. This way everyone gets to see the updates and no one is left out. Even enemies, nosey folks will come here to view….. Thank you everyone for the donations, prayers, phone calls, text, etc. I love ya’ll.

Not much has really changed. Two nights ago they tried to ween him off the medically induced coma but it failed. He had 2 seizures that night and 1 the next morning. Today they told me that even though he is induced they are still seeing seizure activity. They said they have sent out several tests but some could take up to 5 days to come back! They still don’t know the cause. I am not very happy with the hospital right now. Markus is on a ventilator. The tubing that connects the machine to the tubing going into his throat has been malfunctioning and coming apart for at least 3 days that I know of. They have tried to rig it several times to no avail. Today I left angry because they are saying they don’t know if they want to change it out or not! I have watched it disconnect, heard the machine beep, and watched it take a minute for the nurses to come check it!

His blood pressure was very low today. I asked why and was told they removed him from the medication that keeps his blood pressure normal. He is on a lot of different meds so I’m assuming they don’t want to keep giving him unnecessary meds.

Markus, you’re a fighter. You’re not going to leave your son! You got this. Your brain just needs a little rest and once it gets enough you’ll be back as good as new. I love you with everything In me son!
