Just a few weeks ago, many of you stood with us when my mom suffered a massive stroke. You lifted her up with your prayers, love, and support — and it meant the world to our family. Watching her fight to recover, to learn how to speak again, and to rebuild strength has been one of the hardest and most humbling experiences of my life.
Now, only weeks later, our family has been struck again. My mother-in-law was rushed to the emergency room after suddenly experiencing slowed speech and trouble understanding words. After CT scans and an MRI, doctors confirmed she had multiple strokes on both sides of her brain.
She has since gone through a long series of tests, including echocardiograms, a TEE, and a transcranial Doppler. While the results for a possible PFO (a small hole in the heart) were not conclusive, the doctors are continuing to monitor her closely. Her recovery will involve constant follow-ups with neurology, cardiology, therapy, labs, and lifestyle changes to protect her health moving forward.
This has placed another heavy weight on our family so soon after my mom’s stroke. We are grateful that both of these strong women are still here with us — but the reality is that the medical bills, outpatient procedures, therapies, medications, and transportation costs are overwhelming.
This fundraiser is to support my mother-in-law as she begins her recovery journey. On top of that, having to miss work to care for my mother-in-law has created a financial strain at home. This fundraiser will not only help cover her medical needs, but also food and household bills, so we can keep our family afloat while focusing on her recovery.
If you cannot give financially, please consider keeping her in your prayers and sharing this page with others. Your love, encouragement, and support mean more than words can ever say.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us again through another storm.
With gratitude,
