Stand with Us: Overcoming Job Loss and Discrimination
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart but also with hope. My wife recently lost her job under very difficult and unfair circumstances. An unfortunate accident led to her dismissal—yet she was treated far more harshly than others involved. Why? Because she stood up for her coworkers and advocated for what was right.
This tension with her superior had been building, especially after she began speaking up for others. On top of that, my wife lives with a disability, and instead of receiving understanding and support, she faced hostility and discrimination. We can't share every detail right now—unfortunately, the business owner involved has already issued a preemptive cease and desist, even though we haven’t said a word publicly. That should give you an idea of what we’re up against.
To make matters worse, when we applied for unemployment, we were denied—likely due to the same person undermining us once again. It's been over a month without my wife's income, and while she’s a fighter and has already landed a new job, it doesn’t begin until August 18. We just need a little help to get through until then.
We’re a small family with a rambunctious and imaginative 3-year-old who adores purple unicorns (which is why we’ve included one here ). We try every day to be good role models for her, even during tough times like this.
If you can spare anything to help us stay afloat until that first paycheck comes in, it would mean the world to us. Every donation helps with groceries, bills, and keeping things stable for our little girl.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for caring. We appreciate it more than words can say.
