Stand with Us: Heather Vedmore’s Road to Recovery

In March, my mom's life was forever changed by a devastating car accident. Since then, she has faced relentless challenges, including two weeks in the ICU and requiring ongoing in-home care. The accident caused serious neurological complications, including a worsening of her multiple sclerosis, which had been in remission for years. It also left her unable to use her right hand—a critical tool in her work as a cosmetology instructor—and recent concussion-related issues have made it impossible for her to drive, further limiting her independence.

The uncertainty surrounding her recovery has been overwhelming. She dreams of returning to work, but that day feels far away. In the meantime, the financial strain has been crushing. We've exhausted all our savings just trying to stay afloat, but it's not enough to cover the mounting essential bills and basic needs.

Seeing my mom endure so much pain while also worrying about how to make ends meet has been heartbreaking. She is the strongest person I know, and I want nothing more than to help her focus on healing without the constant burden of financial stress.
