Update on Ty
7/21 updates- “Bye Bye Toes, HELLO LIFE”
God is Good!!
Today is day 7 of being in the hospital. Friday they took him off the ventilator, he was finally able to start responding by moving his hands a little bit in his legs. He started talking but it's really hard to understand him and he has ICU delusion. So he is hallucinating but they think that will go away soon. They also took him off of continuous dialysis and we'll just do it 3 days a week now. Making progress! There is still concern for secondary infection and his left foot does not look good. They've already pretty much warned as he will be losing some toes and a tip of a finger. But that is nothing compared to what it could have been! The kidney specialist said he will be in recovery for most likely 6 weeks.

7/18 update:
We are very excited today because Ty is now responding and can open his eyes every once in awhile, squeeze your hand, give a thumbs up and shake his head yes or no lightly. The doctors think he is out of immediate life-threatening danger but not completely out of the woods. There is concern about his left foot but they are not going to rush anything. They may try to take out the ventilator as soon as he can pass a couple tests. One doctor is letting us know that they usually expect one week of recovery in the hospital to every one day in ICU. At this point he has been in ICU for 6 days and definitely has some more to go. Thank you so much for all of the support from Family, friends and our community. It is so heartwarming to have such a good support system and gives us the strength we need to stay positive.

7/17 update: Ty was able to breath on his own most of the day yesterday but was placed back on a ventilator. Great news
is that they are not concerned about pneumonia at this time. There’s a bit more hope for his hand as there’s been a bit of detectable movement when the Dr has tried to wake Ty. So far, Ty is still unconscious.
please continue to keep him in your prayers.

———
Ty remains in critical condition, but we’re beginning to see signs of improvement. He is still on a ventilator, but has started taking some breaths on his own. His legs, hands, and feet remain in very rough shape, but there is a pulse in both feet—a positive sign. His blood pressure has stabilized, medications have been reduced, and several key health markers are moving in the right direction.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming love, support, and prayers from our family, friends, and extended community. Your kindness has meant the world to us during this unimaginably difficult time.

Please continue to keep Ty in your thoughts and prayers as he fights to heal. Every message, prayer, and donation makes a difference.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Zelle: [phone redacted]

Thank you for standing with Ty and his family during this difficult time. ❤️

The weekend of July 13, Ty Danforth was life-flighted from La Grande, Oregon to the ICU in Boise, Idaho after a sudden and severe illness. What started as pain in his leg quickly turned critical — within hours, Ty went into multi-organ failure. Doctors worked tirelessly to find the cause and discovered a severe bacterial infection that led to toxic shock syndrome.

Ty is now in critical condition, sedated and on a ventilator, dialysis, and multiple life-saving medications. His medical team has said the next 72 hours are crucial, and even in the best case, he will likely remain in the ICU for at least three weeks — possibly months — as his body fights to recover.

Ty is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He’s deeply loved by family, friends, and his community. Now, he and his family need our support more than ever.

This will be a long and challenging road, and the financial strain is immense. Any donation, no matter how small, will help cover medical costs, travel, and living expenses so Ty’s loved ones can focus on being by his side.

If you can help, please donate and share this message. Your support and prayers mean the world.

Thank you for standing with Ty and his family during this difficult time. ❤️
