Protecting the Protectors of Bolivia’s Amazon Updated May 30, 2025
In these uncertain times, I have been reflecting on how to support the web of goodness in the world. I am excited to be putting together a team to support and protect one of the most remarkable and successful young rainforest activists in the world. And I want you to join us in spirit!
My beloved friend and student, Jhanisse Daza is a founder of a huge nonviolent environmental movement in Bolivia, whose members are being attacked for their work. She is a Dharma student of Jack's and mine who is living out the teachings with courage and determination. Jhanisse needs media attention for protection when she returns to Bolivia. She is finally able to go, this June 13.
Please help us send a small international team to accompany Jhanisse and media spotlight the experiences of these environmental heroes. This is the best protection for her. The money is to cover airfares and travel expenses for the team -- a videographer, a social media expert, and an environmental activist -- plus a small stipend for the videographer. They will travel around the country to witness, document, and spread the word about the indigenous firefighters putting their lives on the line to save the Amazon's forests.
Jhanisse wants to bring International awareness to this huge destruction of the Amazonian rainforest in Bolivia, largely unknown to the rest of the world. And in protecting the indigenous activists and the rainforest, we protect our beautiful world.
