Stand with Tricia Denton in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
We are raising awareness and asking for help for our dear friend, Tricia Denton.
Tricia was recently diagnosed with Primary Lateral Sclerosis, a very debilitating neuromuscular disease.
Tricia is the friend who is in everyone’s corner. She is the person who will stand with you and cheer you through any obstacle, big or small.
She stands for those without a voice. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty… she fights in the biggest trenches.
Here are some of the ways she has shown up for others:
She has served the community through multiple parenting programs, Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health, Samaritans Closet, The League of Women Voters for Leelanau County, Michigan and Lake Michigan Region, the Leelanau School, 4H, Substance Free Leelanau, Benzie/Leelanau District Health Dept, Poverty Reduction Initiative, Leelanau Clean Water, OWDM, the Glen Lake Association, Exchange Student Host (more than 10 students!), and has over 30 years clean. (She has mentored and sponsored dozens of women in her recovery journey.)
As a result of the diagnosis, Tricia had a fall and broke her femur. After months of PT and rehab, she is gaining strength but is still unable to work. She had to stop working last April. She has applied for Social Security Disability, but as we know, these benefits are not easy to obtain. She is without an income, and the bills are mounting.
We are asking her community and friends to give back. Tricia has been there for so many of us, and she now needs our help.
Her friends are planning an “Involuntary Retirement Party” on Sunday, Feb 23, from 2-4 pm at the Little Traverse Inn (149 E Harbor Hwy, Maple City, MI). Join us to honor and celebrate her, our relationships, her achievements and contributions, and to offer her emotional and monetary support.
The Party/Open House will have a full menu available for anyone who wishes to buy a meal.
