Who Travis is:
Travis embodies the spirit of joy and laughter, brightening the lives of those around him with his humor and warmth. To those who cherish him, he is not just a friend but also a devoted husband, loving father, son, and brother. Known for his heartfelt bear hugs, his versatility as a jack of all trades, and his passion for music. Travis has demonstrated incredible strength and resilience over the past year and a half.
Why We’re Asking:
Last year, at the age of 42, Travis was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He bravely went through 6 weeks of oral chemotherapy/radiation followed by 16 more weeks of traditional chemotherapy. After this, the cancerous tumor, a portion of the large intestine, and surrounding lymph nodes were surgically removed. Travis faced complications after the surgery but fought through them and was declared cancer-free in December 2024.
Unfortunately, in April of 2025, the cancer returned, and additional surgery and treatment are now required.
Despite this setback, Travis is not ready to give up. He is determined to heal and be present for his beloved wife, Caitlin, and their two precious daughters, Sloane (6) and Annabel (3). He draws strength from his girls, who inspire him to fight for a future filled with memories and love.
Following the news of his cancer's return, Travis' team of oncologists recommended he seek treatment at Sloan Kettering in New York. Their proposed treatment plan aligned with his healthcare team in Charlotte, and he underwent surgery on May 9th, 2025. He is now discharged and we expect prolonged months of recovery at home. This period brings a rollercoaster of emotions, but we are holding out hope.
Thank You:
Throughout this challenging period, we have witnessed the kindness of others and the beauty that can emerge in difficult times. The support from the community has made a significant difference for Travis and Caitlin. Travis and Caitlin have not asked for anything publicly. In fact, during his brief remission, Travis started making wooden creations and selling items at the local farmers market to alleviate the financial burden that cancer placed on him and his family.
With a major surgery that just took place and many uncertainties to face, Travis will be out of work and on short-term disability again, meaning he will not receive his usual pay. Coupled with increased expenses related to medical bills, hotel stays, and home health, we are reaching out for assistance.
Funds raised will support Travis and Caitlin with medical bills and everyday needs. If you can contribute, even a little can make a meaningful difference. And if you're unable to give financially, please consider sharing this message and sending your prayers and positive thoughts to Travis and his family. Your support and love mean the world during this time.
With heartfelt gratitude.

Including a link as Travis and Family were featured on the local news (this was filmed before he was told that his cancer returned). This now seems bittersweet, but hoping it brings awareness and lets everyone see why we love this little family so much.
