We are creating this page on behalf of our dear friend Tonya Hamilton.

As some of you may or may not know in December of 2023 it was discovered that Tonya was diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism in her left lung which has landed her in and out of the hospital for the past several months. Tonya has been on constant oxygen since the diagnosis as she continues to experience much difficulty breathing. Tonya recently underwent heart surgery to remove a clot from her heart, but recently found out she has developed another Pulmonary Embolism in her right lung. Despite the efforts of blood thinners Tonya continues to experience issues with forming blood clots which raises an entirely different risk to her life and health. Unfortunately these health issues have taken Tonya out of work since April 2024.

Tonya has Chronic Pulmonary Hypertension which is something that cannot be repaired here locally. Tonya will need to travel to San Diego early August for an extended period of time in attempt to repair her lung which if all goes wellwill give her a chance to breathe on her own again. This surgery is preformed as an open heart surgery and will require her to be placed on a Cardiopulmonary bypass machine so it can do the work of her heart and lungs while this surgery is being preformed. The recovery time in San Diego is no less than 3 weeks and several more weeks at home when she returns.

As you can imagine this is a very scary situation for Tonya and times have been very trying especially these last several months. Our wish for Tonya is that she is able to go into this procedure without any additional stress and worry. Tonya's brother Jeff will be accompany her to San Diego however there is still the financial burden outside of this with her being out of work, her monthly expenses, her upcoming medical expenses and of course just being able to live comfortably and let her body do the work it needs so she can get her health back.

If you know Tonya you know what a wonderful human she is. She's loyal, caring, selfless, loving and kind to anyone she meets. Tonya is a phenomenal dog mom , a great neighbor, a hard worker and a wonderful sister, aunt & friend.
