Stand with Tom: Support His Prosthesis Fund

We are asking for some help for Tom Howard. He is my father-in-law who has gone through a devastating ordeal and is need of help to try to get his life back in order.

Tom is a retired highway worker for thirty years. He has been a farrier for forty-seven years. Starting January of 2025, he had to have stints for an aneurysm in two separate operations. He had the first operation, it took him a month to recuperate at home. In February of 2025 he went for the second operation.

The shocking, heartbreaking and unexpected outcome is that Tom’s left leg had to be amputated. He is restricted to a wheelchair and can no longer do his horse shoeing. Tom’s insurance is extremely limited and covers very little.

He needs a wheelchair ramp for his home. A prosthesis which we understand will cost between 100,000 to 150,000 dollars. Coverage for the cost of long-term medications, Payment for physical and occupational therapies. He will be responsible for twenty percent of the cost.
