Hi, my name is Tina Aldridge. I have a hard time doing this and asking for help because I'm used to working every day to get my own.

My husband is 72 years old with stage 3 cancer, is on chemo, is also diabetic, and has heart failure. The cancer and the heart failure came at one time and were very unexpected. I'm very sad to say that we were not prepared for this, and it caught us off guard. As much as I've been trying to do it myself and make sure that he has all the food that he can tolerate and eat, make sure all his medications are paid for, and work seven days a week to make sure all the bills are paid, it still is not enough.

My husband only gets Social Security, and I only have one IHSS client. He does not have a cremation or burial in place or paid for, nor do we have the money to purchase that in case of a turn of events. He is not eligible for Medi-Cal due to income. We both make, which is not a lot, so because of such, we had to pay out-of-pocket to have people help us take care of him. We are completely overwhelmed and would appreciate any help anybody can give in this situation to help with medicine, caregiving costs, or in general just anything he may need during his journey of cancer treatment.
