Stand with Thomas: Facing Ewing's Sarcoma

I’m writing this on behalf of my courageous boyfriend, Thomas, who, in February 2025, was informed that a tumor had been found in his back. Due to the severe back pain he’s been dealing with since April 2022, he was admitted to the hospital, where he’s since had to undergo two surgeries. After a long-awaited biopsy, Thomas was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. A rare and aggressive cancer that runs along his spinal canal, including the nerves in his spinal cord. It’s affecting his ability to walk, causing weakness, numbness, and pain in his legs, and devastatingly, he may face permanent nerve damage or paralysis.

He’s now facing the biggest fight of his life, especially considering how rare this cancer is. On top of the income loss we’ve experienced during this battle, the costs of medical treatments, travel to oncology specialists, and lodging for appointments have created a financial burden that no one should have to deal with while fighting for their health and wellbeing.

Through all of this, Thomas’s optimism hasn’t wavered, which doesn’t surprise me! He is the most courageous person I know. He’s been the quiet force behind so many people’s daily lives, working in apartment maintenance to make sure homes are safe and functional. Anyone who knows him knows he’s incredibly intelligent, hilarious, and hardworking, always willing to help others.

Beyond his work, he’s deeply passionate about music production, learning instruments, and building computers. I just want him to be able to get back to the activities he loves, including making the people in his life laugh.
