Stand with the Tollivers in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
"So many people have it worse than we do."

I cannot count how many times I have heard this phrase come out of my best friend's mouth over the years. Nicole and Eric Tolliver, and their girls have faced more hardships than many people I have ever known. And yet, they have continued to dig deeper, and find strength I didn't know could exist.

This last weekend, I don't think there were many others that had it worse than the Tollivers. While trying to finalize and close on their house sale, their younger daughter Nola started seizing and could not breathe on her own. Eric and Nicole had to witness their child get intubated and kept sedated, before she was rushed off on the Mayo helicopter, sent to Rochester alone, while they had to make the journey via car, not knowing what was happening with their sweet girl.

They met Nola at the hospital, and never left her side for several days, as doctors ran tests. Unfortunately, right now all signs are indicating Nola has a seizure disorder, which was triggered by a respiratory illness.

The sad truth is the Tollivers are not new to medically complex needs or seizure disorders. Their older child Emma, has special needs, requiring 24 hour care, including a different seizure disorder.

They have to await further testing to truly discover what is going on with Nola. And during all of this, the medical bills will be coming.

I know of no other 2 people that work harder, have given everything in their power to make better lives for their kiddos, especially with significant care needs, will literally show up at a moment's notice, or be a shoulder to cry on than these two.

"So many people have it worse than we do." Well, I don't know so many other people. But I do know Eric and Nicole, and Emma, and Nola, and love them fiercely. And if you are reading this, I am guessing you do too.

So now, for the people who never ask for anything, work for everything they have, and will be the first to show up for their friends, family, and perfect strangers, I am humbly asking that you consider donating during their time of need. Let's show them the village that surrounds their family during this time. So many other people are often our friends, our neighbors, our loved ones. The Tollivers need our love and our support, whatever can be given.

The funds will all directly to the Tollivers to cover their medical expenses both from this event and upcoming medical appointments, including an MRI.
