Stand with the Tacketts Against Injustice
Standing Together for Those Who Stood for Us.
Asking for help is never easy. It’s humbling, and it makes one feel vulnerable. But today, I’m reaching out on behalf of people I deeply admire—individuals who stood up for our community when it mattered most. Stephanie and Richard Tackett never hesitated to do what they believed was right, even knowing the backlash involved. Now, they need our help.
During the terrifying and tragic wildfire events that shook Kendrick and Juliaetta, they took a stand against a councilperson whose actions, in their view, were completely unacceptable. Their leadership and determination led to a successful recall, reflecting the will of the majority, (over two thirds). They fought for our community, and now, unfortunately, they are facing a lawsuit for defamation (by this former councilperson)as a result.
They have retained an attorney and are navigating the legal process, carrying this burden alone—until now. Many have encouraged them to ask for support, and while they are hesitant, I know that our community still holds the same passion that united us six months ago.
If you feel moved to help, any donation toward their legal defense would mean the world to them. There isn't any one-sided, sensationalized media stepping up to shine light on our mission, so if you are unable to provide a donation, but wish to show your support, sharing this so it can reach the masses, would do just that.Should this effort raise more than what is needed for legal costs, the extra funds will be given back to the community through a local charity or programs.
Your support (donations can be anonymous), in any form, is deeply appreciated. Words cannot fully express the gratitude felt for each and every person who stands with them in this fight.
Much love,
Crystal Marshall
