Stand with the Stankas in Their Fight

This is Brian Stanka, a dear friend to many, especially to our family (Sweeney Family). Brian is married to Linda DeLeonardis Stanka and has two daughters, Felicia (Feather) and Vanessa (Vee Rose).

A few months ago Brian was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia. Brian left at the end of April for Boston Hospital, where he receives treatment currently. He has been fighting the battle of his life while his family remains back here in NY trying to make ends meet and travel to see him every weekend.

The Stanka family has been "there" for many people in their lives. It's time we have to be "there" for them.

Brian will be in staying in the hospital in Boston over the course of MANY MONTHS-- receiving treatment, which will include a bone marrow transplant eventually.

Linda has been working as much as she can during this trying time, maintaining the home, taking care of Vanessa and of all the animals. This tragedy has taken a toll on them financially, physically and mentally. Their finances have been cut by more than half as Brian is no longer able to work and Linda is working what hours she can while trying to visit Brian and take care of home life. The expense of traveling every weekend to Boston is a financial hardship, one they are not used to---gas, tolls, food and hotel stays are expensive.
