Last Monday, Joseph Newberry tragically fell 50 ft from a tree while he was working. He is currently at USA hospital recovering from a broken back, broken wrist, cracked sternum, and broken ribs. He and his family (wife Janet, Emily 12, Trevor 5, and Dillion 9 months) are blessed that he is still alive to be sure. However, Joe has a long road ahead. He is insistent that he will walk again and Lord willing we know that will happen. In the meantime, his recovery is expected to take no less than a year. As far as we know at the moment, the workers compensation from his contract climb will cover his medical bills.
I'm asking as a friend of Joe's that knows his family and his heart that we try to help them through this challenging time. Janet will be unable to work while she takes care of her family and helps to rehabilitate Joe. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. As the wife of a tree climber myself, this is my worst nightmare. Hold your loved ones close because accidents happen and let's be so thankful that we still have Joe.
