Alright Warriors! The Luna family needs your help.
This GoFundMe is for Addison and Dominik Luna.
To say “to know them is to love them” would be an understatement! I don’t think I have ever met anyone as kind, caring, and giving in my life, and I know a lot of people. The love they share for each other is nothing short of a fairytale! And seeing the love they surround their beautiful little girls in is magical. Their family truly is amazing!
In the last couple of weeks, their entire amazingly beautiful, fairytale world has been completely turned upside down with one nasty, disgustingly ugly, terrifying word, Cancer…
On August 26th, I called Addison just to check in as we hadn’t talked for a bit. As we talked about the girls, work, life, etc., I could hear it in her voice—something was off, something was wrong. So, I asked. She stated Dominik has some lumps on his neck that have been there for a few weeks or so and that he had a doctor's appointment a couple of days ago and they sent in a referral to Willamette Valley Cancer Center to see a hematologist-oncologist. His appointment was today and she was waiting for him to get home.
Since that appointment, there have been a few more for imaging and blood work… LOTS and LOTS of imaging and LOTS and LOTS of blood work. If you’ve ever had to play the waiting game for results, you know how hard it is. Even more so when it's results from the Cancer Center.
I spoke with Addison yesterday. The results came in and Dominik has Stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma. They will be putting in a chemotherapy port Thursday (09/19/24) and he then begins treatment Monday (09/23/24). He will undergo treatment every OTHER Monday due to the “heavy hitting cocktail” (Chemo Regimen Options: Bv-AVD - Brentuximab 1.2mg/kg D1, D15 - Doxorubicin 25mg/m2 D1, D15 - Vinblastine 6mg/m2 D1, D15 - Dacarbazine 375mg/m2 D1, D15 Q28 day cycle x 6) he will be receiving during his treatment sessions.
Dominik works a full-time job as well as Addison. His treatment plan is every other Monday for the next 6 months. With treatments being such hard hitters, it goes without saying, they will both be missing a substantial amount of work. That’s where we come in!
The mental, emotional, and spiritual battle is extremely hard. Now, throw the financial piece into the mix… If you’re able to find some peace within the mental, emotional, and spiritual battle, it is short-lived as the financial battle takes front stage. Yes, praying and fighting for your loved one is more important than anything, but the fear of not being able to keep a roof over your heads, put food on the table, and keep the lights on is overwhelming!
So, I am asking for your help in taking some of the worry off their plate. Addison and Dominik are the first to jump in and help anyone with anything, it doesn’t matter what it is. It’s our turn to help them.
Please consider helping this wonderful family! Every little bit helps! Every share helps too!
I will be setting up a Meal Train for them as well.
