We are the Freiberger’s. I’m Nichole, wife of Eddie Sr. and mother of Eddie Jr. and Nicky.
Eddie Sr. is a Pipefitter/Welder out of UA Local 198 Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He primarily works Nuclear Outages across the nation.
Eddie Jr. is a college student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, but he lives at home and commutes. He aspires to be a bi-vocational minister working in the medical field.
Nicky is attending a local community college and aspires to one day work in the medical field as well.
For the majority of our children’s lives, I was a SAHM, homeschooling them because we were full-time RVers, traveling for Eddie Sr’s work but also because our boys are high-functioning autistic and brick-and-mortar schooling wasn’t the best learning atmosphere for them. In the Fall of ‘23, I re-entered the workforce as a laborer out of LiUNA Local 99, also working Nuclear Outages, sometimes alongside my husband.
We live in a small town right outside of Baton Rouge and have been members of Woodlawn Baptist Church for 8 years.
As of earlier today, my husband has officially been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is unable to work — which also means he’ll be unable to keep his insurance beyond the third week of July. We are at the beginning of this journey and COBRA is so very expensive. We will also need help with bills, as I don’t bring in enough to cover them all. COBRA. Medications. Gas. Procedures. And all the things I can’t even fathom because my head and my heart are still trying to grasp the depth of what has become our new reality. If you know us personally, you know what our journey has been like since July of 2021 and how even though we have had one seemingly horrible thing happen after another, God has been so very faithful to see us through. We know that He is a good God and a loving God and we trust in His plan. We are asking for anyone who feels compelled to help us raise what we think will be enough money to get us through this first giant hurdle to give whatever you feel led to give but also, we’re asking for everyone to pray. Pray for strength. Pray for endurance. Pray that the Lord will give us peace that surpasses all human understanding and that in all the valleys we’re about to go through, He would give us courage to persevere and that our faith in Him would beat out the ever-creeping fear of the unknown. Pray that our hearts, minds, and eyes will always be laser-focused on Christ and that it will be impossible for us to not see God’s goodness every step of the way.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for your prayers.
