On 5/12/24 (Mother’s Day), Terry was mowing the yard at their vacation rental property in Westfield NY when he had a heart attack. Luckily with his quick actions, and the actions of Westfield Hospital, he was stabilized and flown via helicopter to Buffalo General Hospital where it was determined he had 8 blockages, with the main artery to his heart (the widow maker), blocked more than 50%. Terry spent the following week in the surgical intensive care unit resting up for open heart surgery. We think knowing that he would miss his son’s high school graduation was worse than knowing he was going in for surgery. On Monday 5/20/24 the surgeon reported that he performed 5 bypasses. While recovering after his surgery, Terry went into AFib which caused him to have 3 mini strokes. Luckily, he is expected to make full recovery from the strokes and with lifestyle changes the open heart surgery should prolong his life for at least another 20 years.
Terry is a self-employed auto mechanic. Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing Terry, knows how caring, giving, and selfless he is. He is an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. His focus is giving his time and energy to others and is not one to ask for help for himself.
All donations will go directly towards medical expenses and lost wages. We thank you for your donation and appreciate anything you can do to help support Terry and his family during this difficult time.
