Stand with Terry and her family in their fight against IBC.

My name is Terry and I was diagnosed with rare Inflammatory Breast Cancer around 4/30/2024. I was, therefore, let go from my job and we have been living on one income since. My husband and I have four kids ages 25, 23, 14, and 9 with the cutest 1-year-old grandson. They have been warriors throughout this journey and have sacrificed a lot for us to get to where we're at on one income today, which I'm sure everyone knows is almost impossible in today's world living normal healthy lives.

I am on a very aggressive treatment plan that will continue for a minimum of 5 years. No one realizes that the treatment itself causes other health issues on top of it. I have a long list of specialists I see and every day is all about Dr's, bills, Dr. bills, fighting insurance, and fighting cancer for us and me staying as healthy as I can to hopefully one day ring that bell! We have been tested to the fullest and our lives have been put on hold and flipped upside down this past year.

Needless to say, here I am setting up a GoFundMe for my family and myself. Something I never thought I would do. I am never one to ask for help and if you know me, I'm the one who'd take the shirt off my back for anyone. It's taken a lot for me to put my pride aside and do this.

With just one income for almost a year now, we need to get caught up with bills, some uncovered Dr. bills, kids' sports, groceries, and we promised the kids since we missed our annual family vacation trip last year with a lot of sacrifices from them, we'd take one this year, and then some surprise emergencies with the house came up in between all of this that has to get done. We just can't catch a break it seems and any small donation would be helpful and appreciated. It makes me think of that saying that says, "It takes a Village"... that's no lie.

Currently, I have finished 4 rounds of Red Devil, 11 rounds of Taxol, made it through a mastectomy with lymph node removal and re-routed reconstruction, and now I am in the middle of radiation until approximately March 10th. Then I will get a full PET scan to see if I show NED (no evidence detected). They label it that way instead of saying I'm cured and I have no cancer because IBC is not currently curable though they're working on that. You can show NED one month and the next it's back full-blown everywhere and you're right back at square one, constantly having scans and tests for the next 5 years to monitor it. I will continue with chemo pills for 2 years at which point, having stayed NED, I can have the other breast removed with reconstruction, and then finish up the following 3 years still on the Hormone Blocker Chemo pill (putting me at 5 years) and if all is good I may be able to discontinue chemo pills or I may have to stay on them lifelong. They will determine that at that point.

God Bless Everyone and Thank you!
