Stand with Terry: A Father & Educator vs Cancer!

Hello, I'm Terry Owens. At 50 years old, I've been blessed with a life filled with memorable moments, from the joy of fatherhood to the fulfillment of shaping young minds as an educator. However, in July 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, a challenge that I never anticipated.
My Fight Against Cancer:
Since my diagnosis, I've embarked on an intense treatment regimen, including bi-weekly chemotherapy sessions and regular CT scans. In August 2023, I underwent a surgery with the hope of removing the cancer. However, the surgery revealed that the cancer had spread to other areas, unseen in previous scans. Despite this setback, my determination remains unshaken. I've resumed chemotherapy and continue to battle this disease with all my might.
A Life Dedicated to Education:
For years, I dedicated my life to education, nurturing young minds and preparing them for the future. Even in retirement, my commitment to the community remains strong, and I continue to lead and inspire. To all my fellow educators, I understand the challenges and joys of our profession. We've made a difference in countless lives, and now I'm reaching out for your support in my time of need.
A Special Appeal to Educators and Advocates of Education:
To the incredible community of educators and those who value the impact of teachers: I appeal to you not just as a fellow educator, but as someone who understands the profound difference we make every day. Your support would mean the world to me and my family. Together, we can show the strength and unity of the educational community.
To All Parents and Fathers:
Being a father has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. To all parents and fathers out there, I understand the joys, challenges, and responsibilities that come with parenthood. I'm fighting not just for myself, but to be there for my children. Your support and understanding during this time are invaluable.
Why Your Support Matters:
The medical journey is not just emotionally taxing but financially overwhelming. While we navigate this challenging path, your support can lighten the load. Every dollar will go towards:
Medical Expenses: Covering treatments, medications, and therapies.
Living Expenses: Ensuring our family's day-to-day needs are met.
Emotional Support: Funding therapy and counseling for our family.
How You Can Make a Difference:
Donate: Every contribution, big or small, brings hope and relief.
Share: Help us spread the word. Share our story with your community.
Engage: Leave a message, share your story, or simply send your prayers.
A Note of Gratitude:
Your support means more than words can express. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this battle. A special thank you to the educator community for your unwavering support and dedication. To all the parents and fathers out there, your understanding and empathy during this time have been invaluable.
