My beloved mum, Tenjiwe Mlilo, a 66-year-old mother, grandmother, and friend to many, recently received life-changing news. What doctors first thought was a simple ulcer turned out to be metastatic lung cancer — a serious form that has already spread to other parts of her body.
Her health declined rapidly, and she is now unable to swallow on her own. She currently relies on a feeding tube as she awaits vital test results before beginning treatment.
Mum was visiting me in Abu Dhabi when she became too ill to travel back home to Zimbabwe. We are thankful that she is surrounded by love and care from her family, as well as the dedicated medical teams at LLH Hospital and LifeCare Hospital, whose swift action helped save her life.
So far, the family has come together and managed to cover about $8,000 in medical expenses, but the journey is far from over. Mum now urgently needs financial support for further tests, cancer treatment, and ongoing care. Due to more test results due on the 13th October 2025 we have a rough estimation for the treatment of 9828.06 pounds per 3 week cycle and she will require 8 cycles before reassessment ( a total of 78 642.48 pounds ). She will also need finances to extend her visit visa in Abu Dhabi while receiving treatment as she is not a resident of the UAE. This needs to be done by the 18th October 2025 which is when she was due to leave the country.
Back home, she has been the rock of her family — helping raise my late sister's children and being a source of strength, kindness, and wisdom in her community. She has always been the one to give and uplift others; now, she needs our help to keep fighting.
Please join us in surrounding her with love and support. Your prayers, donations, and shares of this page will make a real difference in her healing journey.
Together, we can help mum receive the treatment she needs and bring hope to the family’s hearts once again. We look forward to seeing her win this battle.
Mum has appointed me, her daughter, to be listed as the beneficiary because she is retired and without an active bank account. All donations will go towards mum's (Tenjiwe's) treatment.
