On Friday October 31st, Taylor received heartbreaking news that she has been diagnosed with cancer.

For years, Taylor has struggled with different kinds of health issues and unexplainable symptoms. She has had countless visits to MNGI, Park Nicolett, and North Memorial in an effort to address recurring issues with her stomach and breathing difficulties. Throughout these visits, she was diagnosed with IBS and severe anxiety- with the instruction to see a dietitian and no further treatment. Taylor began to believe that her intense symptoms were due to anxiety and blamed herself as they continued to worsen. Flash forward to October 22nd, 2025, her abdominal pain became so unbearable that her boyfriend brought her into the emergency room. At this visit she received an expedited referral to a Hematologist because they found extremely high iron and inflammatory markers in her blood. The following week, on October 28th, Taylor found herself struggling to breathe and was rushed back to the emergency room. After an X-ray and a CT scan, they discovered a large mass sitting on her heart. She was referred to an oncologist, where it was later confirmed to be cancerous. As of now, doctors predict it to be Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but we’re still waiting for the biopsy results to confirm. They also found a tumor in her stomach and two affected lymph nodes in her armpit. The large tumor is pressing on her heart, causing it to become misshaped with the danger of collapsing, creating scary complications.

Taylor is in her third year of school at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and has been very dedicated to her studies. Last year, she was accepted into the competitive Rehabilitation Sciences program, on a pre-physical therapy track. Along with this, Taylor loves to stay active, especially through lifting weights. This new diagnosis has put a complete halt to her academic and physical life. She has made the tough decision to withdraw from her classes to focus all of her attention on healing and recovering.

Everything has happened so suddenly, and the financial burdens continue to grow- from medical bills to daily expenses, travel, rent, school loans and the loss of income due to Taylor’s abrupt unemployment.

With love,
Taylor's friends and family
