I'm raising funds for my friend and student, Tahnee. Tahnee came to the United States at the age of 19, by herself, speaking very little English, fleeing from the violence and turmoil of her native Haiti, under the humanitarian parole program offered by the government. She was then granted Temporary Protected Status ("TPS"). She began working and going to school, working towards an associate's degree in paralegal studies. She is an excellent student and has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She has aspirations to go on to a four-year college and then law school. She speaks four languages and radiates optimism and positivity even in the face of such an uncertain future.

Tahnee urgently needs to file a petition for asylum and will be retaining an immigration lawyer to help her with this process. Tahnee is someone who makes our community better, has done everything right, and deserves to stay here.
