Stand with Suzanne: Fight Against Cancer

Please open your hearts for our darling girl, Suzanne Hughes Orchard. To know her, is to adore her.

She was recently rushed up to the Cleveland Clinic for emergency surgery for ovarian cancer, the silent killer for women that often goes undetected until the later stages.

This was a terrifying close call.

She has endured two grueling surgeries; the first to remove her uterus, ovaries, a lymph node, appendix, and part of her colon. The second was an emergency surgery to insert two kidney stents due to a failure resulting from the first operation.

Despite the dire initial outcomes, Suz has pulled through like the little warrior she is. She spent ten days in the hospital, with Paul by her side the entire time. A huge thank you to the Blue Heaven staff for their compassion and understanding during this time!

However, they have both been unable to work during this shocking turn of events, and the astronomical medical bills are starting to pile up.

Over the last decade, she has showcased our local authors, and built a shelter for all of our local bookworms and tender souls.
