Hi, I'm writing on behalf of my mother-in-law, Susan Bethel. Many of you may know Sue from her volunteering in Rotary in Kingman, AZ and Alaska, or time in Alaska, in Ketchikan and Prince of Wales.

Sue unexpectedly developed a rapid form of leukemia (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) on 3/3/2024 and was rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada where she stayed for 1 month while receiving life-saving chemotherapy. She returned home to Kingman, AZ and has undergone extensive chemotherapy at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ, to ensure her status in remission and to kill her remaining bone marrow, getting her body ready for her donor's bone marrow.

She has been scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this July at the Mayo Clinic. She and her husband Pat will need to stay in the Phoenix area for 100 days following the transplant. They estimate the cost of hotels and the condo they will rent will reach about $10K. The goal of this fundraiser is to defer some of this cost as Sue makes her recovery.
