Stand with Stanley: Fight Against Leukemia

Dearest Friends and Family,
It is with immense sadness that we share on 10/9/24, Stanley, son of Meg and Nate Glowacki, was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia just weeks before his 4th birthday. This is an incredibly high risk leukemia and a significant amount has already spread to the spine. There have been several complications in the first few days of testing, requiring more intensive treatment than one could imagine. Because of the severity of the diagnosis, the family will be in the PICU for the foreseeable future.
This devastating diagnosis has turned Stanley and his family’s worlds upside down, and this family deserves all the support they can get to help his fight against this illness.
Instead of sleeping in his bed, he is in a hospital. Instead of playing at school, he’s hooked to IV bags and monitors. Instead of playing at home with his family and doggy, he is working tirelessly to muster up some energy to fight this horrible disease.
If you don’t know Stanley, you are missing out on a little boy full of life, love, and kindness. Stanley is a bright and cheerful child who loves to play with his big sister Everly, tackle his mommy with kisses, and play superhero with daddy (after all, he IS Batman!). His laughter brings joy to those who know him, and now he faces an enormous challenge. The journey ahead will involve intensive treatments, lengthy hospital stays, and countless medical expenses that are already overwhelming the family.
This GoFundMe is to help ease the financial burden and provide Stanley with the care he needs. Every dollar raised will go directly towards his medical expenses, including treatments, medications, and supportive care.
Together, we can help Stanley in his fight against leukemia. Let’s show him that he is not alone and that we stand with him every step of the way.
UPDATE 10/19/24
Wow. Just wow. The outpouring of love for the Glowacki family has been overwhelming. The kindness that friends, family and complete strangers have shown has proven just how beautiful this world really can be.
I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on how Stanley is doing.
Stanley is responding to treatment exactly how they want him to. He is a warrior and the strongest boy we’ve ever known. As the family was approaching the two week mark of being in the PICU, it is with immense happiness to share that they have been discharged and Stanley is back home with his sissy
While this is an incredible milestone, some of the hardest work begins now. Meg and Nate will be driving Stanley up to CHaD at least twice a week for treatments for the foreseeable future (from southern NH). Stanley’s white blood cell count when they were admitted was 110k, and now it’s 34k, which is fantastic — anything over 50k is dangerous. Since the leukemia is in his spine his team at CHaD is sending the family to boston children’s for a second opinion on treatment. From there’s the CHaD and Boston teams will determine if they will do radiation.
Meg and Nate would like to take a moment to say that ALL of the nurses, doctors, and support staff at CHaD have been absolutely incredible. They truly treat them like family.
