My name is Theresa, and I was born and raised in the beautiful parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
Today, I live and work in Canada, but my heart has never left the hills, rivers, and people of my hometown. St. Elizabeth is more than a place—it’s where I learned the meaning of community, resilience, and love.
My nephew Marvin shares this bond.
He was also born and raised in St. Elizabeth and attended high school there. Now living in Canada, Marvin has joined me in launching this fundraiser to support the parish that shaped us both. Together, we’re standing with the people who helped raise us.
When Hurricane Melissa struck, it devastated the very communities that shaped our lives.
Maggotty and surrounding areas were among the hardest hit. Homes were flooded, roads washed out, and families left without shelter, food, or electricity. Schools, churches, and small businesses—lifelines of daily life—were damaged or destroyed. The storm may have passed, but the struggle to rebuild has only just begun.
This fundraiser is our way of standing with the people of St. Elizabeth—our people.
We are raising funds to provide:
- Emergency food and clean drinking water
- Temporary shelter and rebuilding materials for damaged homes
- Medical supplies and hygiene kits
- Support for restoring electricity and safe road access
- Assistance to local schools and churches to reopen safely
Every dollar will go directly toward these recovery efforts, with trusted community members on the ground helping to distribute aid where it’s needed most.
Please join us in supporting St. Elizabeth.
Let’s show them they’re not alone. Let’s help them rise again—with dignity, strength, and hope.
