Help Me Save Soulberry & Rebuild After a Crushing Setback
Hi, I’m Terri — owner of Soulberry Coffee
With a heavy heart, I’m asking for your help.
Earlier this year, I took out what I believed was a business loan to help bridge a tough winter season. What I didn’t fully understand at the time is that this was a Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) — a predatory financial product that withdraws money daily and places a lien on all future business income.
The daily withdrawals quickly overwhelmed my accounts, putting me in the red almost every morning. I’ve been working nonstop to recover, hosting events, launching new products, cutting costs — but the damage from this decision has been profound. The MCA company now holds a UCC lien against Soulberry, threatening the future of the business and any opportunity to rebuild.
Despite everything, I’ve kept going. I haven’t paid myself since September. I’ve sold inventory, canceled subscriptions, and taken on side work just to keep the lights on. But I’m at a critical point now where I can’t fight this alone.
I’m asking for your help to raise enough to pay off this MCA in full, remove the lien, and finally start fresh — debt-free and with the ability to rebuild on solid ground.
If this shop, our drinks, the music, the laughter, or the safe space we’ve tried to create has ever meant anything to you — please consider giving what you can.
With love,
Terri
