Stand with Sophie and Jhonael: Fight for Freedom

Hi, my name is Sophie, and I’m asking for help during one of the two hardest moments of our lives.

My fiancé, Jhonael, was recently detained by immigration authorities immediately after his asylum court hearing. We were completely blindsided. There was no criminal record, no warning—just fear, confusion, and heartbreak.

We are now in urgent need of an immigration attorney to fight for his freedom and to keep our future together from being torn apart. Legal fees for his case are estimated to be around $5,000, which is only half the amount needed, and unfortunately, we simply don’t have the resources on our own.

After the unexpected passing of my father, I’ve taken on many new financial responsibilities, and while I’m doing my best to stay strong, this sudden legal crisis is more than we can handle alone.
