Help Support Sonia and Their Family During This Difficult Time
Dear Friends and Community,
On September 3rd, 2024, Gina and Patrick decided to take their mommy, Sonia, to the emergency room. Sonia had a dangerously high heart rate and blood pressure. After a CT scan, doctors discovered a dissection of the aorta that led to bleeding and clotting around her heart. She was transferred to Deaconess Hospital and admitted to the ICU, where the medical team worked to stabilize her.
Despite their best efforts, Sonia faced complications. Her heart was functioning at only 26%, making surgery extremely dangerous and she was also not a candidate for a heart transplant. After a heartfelt discussion with the doctors, Gina and Patrick made the deeply difficult decision to transition to end-of-life care. Their beloved mother is now receiving comfort care at Deaconess Hospital. For those who wish to visit or send flowers, please reach out for her room number.
In these trying times, Gina and Patrick are spending every possible moment by their mother’s side. They have taken significant time off work to provide the support and love she needs, while also managing daily responsibilities at home. Gina's husband, Mike, also stepped away from work to help care for their home, children, and provide daily necessities to Patrick and Gina.
This unexpected crisis has placed an unforeseen financial burden on the family, including lost wages and upcoming medical bills. I am reaching out to with a heartfelt request for support. Your generous donations will help ease the financial strain, allowing Gina, Patrick, and their family to focus on what truly matters right now – cherishing their remaining moments together and providing comfort and care for their mommy.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated. Your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time mean the world to them.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude, Kaylene
