Stand with Sheridan's Family in Their Struggle

Hello, and thanks for reading.

My name is Sheridan. My wonderful partner is Kevin, and my beautiful boys are Jack and Bruce, age 8 and (almost) 11.

Almost 2 years ago now, my partner Kevin was severely injured at work, leaving him disabled. We have been fighting a workmans comp case, in which he has been pushed to the side repeatedly and told there is nothing wrong with him, although the medical scans and tests say the opposite. His back is very injured, and the injury has also affected one of his legs. Sitting in the car for a 20 minute drive is enough to put him out of commission the next day.

He has received no backpay income or disability payments in those 2 years, which has left myself being the sole income for our home. In addition, since workmans comp has been fighting us, he also has not received adequate medical care and is forced to be seated/reclined most of the time. We had a lawyer previously that was not keeping up with our case as well. We have recently secured a lawyer that is much more proactive and communicative, and have expressed that we are in dire need of SOME type of income, but he can only do so much and is doing the best he can.

I work full time, including overtime and I Doordash when I am able to try making ends meet. We have sold from our record collection, and Kevin has been working with a friend doing tasks that he can accomplish at home on the computer. Somehow, it still isn't enough. We have been struggling, bad, the whole time, and have been receiving help when we can from family, however we have exhausted every last resource we have.

We are at risk of a couple of utilities being shut off this week, even though I used my tax return to pay them all off (or so I thought, apparently I misunderstood the billing cycle). We have seriously looked at every avenue possible, and we are at the end of our rope, with another 2 weeks until I receive a full paycheck due to a job change.

I am desperate and terrified of what is to come for our family, and I know (everyone knows) that times are hard. But if you could help, it would make a big difference for us and our kids, and give us more time to get paid and put our finances back on track. I'd even be happy to pay you back once I'm paid regularly, if needed. We just need help, and don't have any more time.

It has been hard to do this, as I'm sure it is with everyone, and I wouldn't ask for help, but I'm failing my kids and I need to make sure they are safe and well. Please consider helping, either by donating or sharing our page.
