Help Shelly Fight Stage 4 Glioblastoma and Recover from a Stroke

Hi, my name is Kristie Jensen, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister Shelly Magallanez.

A few months ago, Shelly suffered a sudden and terrifying stroke. During her hospitalization and testing to treat the stroke, doctors discovered Stage 4 Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. To make matters worse, she also passed out and fell, severely injuring her face, and had to be intubated for five days to stabilize her condition.

This has been an overwhelming and emotional time for our family, but Shelly has faced every challenge with incredible courage, determination, and hope. The stroke has affected her left side, leaving her unable to use her left hand, yet she remains focused on recovery and staying strong for her loved ones.

Shelly is also the creator of “The Market” craft show, which she has proudly hosted at the Stride Center six times a year for the past nine years. Her vendors and shoppers are more than just participants — they’ve become family. Even during this difficult time, she continues to delegate and guide her team behind the scenes for the last few shows of the year. True to her spirit, she’s already planning next year’s events, saying, “This is what I love, and it keeps me going.”

In addition to The Market, Shelly is a talented wreath maker, whose creativity and passion have brought joy to many. Though the stroke has temporarily limited her ability to use her left hand, she’s determined to keep creating once she is able.

Unfortunately, Shelly does not have health insurance, which means all of her hospital care, treatments, medications, and recovery costs must be covered out of pocket.
