My name is Shavonne.

Over the last several years, my children and I have experienced prolonged personal, legal, emotional, and financial hardship that dramatically altered the course of our lives. What began as surviving deeply traumatic circumstances eventually evolved into ongoing legal battles, severe financial instability, health-related challenges, and the overwhelming reality of trying to rebuild while still actively navigating crisis and recovery at the same time. Despite these challenges, I have continued fighting to protect my children, advocate for myself, maintain stability where possible, and rebuild our lives with dignity, love, and resilience. Like many people facing prolonged hardship, the emotional and financial impact compounded over time rather than all at once. Delays connected to disability-related processes, recovery, legal obligations, and the loss of financial stability created a situation that eventually became too difficult to carry alone. Even through all of this, I still believe healing, peace, and a better future are possible for my family.

The funds raised will help provide immediate stability for myself and my children, including preventing the loss of reliable transportation essential for medical care, school and family obligations, and rebuilding stability. They will also cover urgent living expenses and overdue bills, maintain ongoing legal and advocacy-related support, support continued medical and trauma-related recovery needs, and create stability, safety, and a path forward as we continue rebuilding our lives.

Along the way, I have also experienced extraordinary kindness. Friends, family, neighbors, advocates, and complete strangers have shown me compassion during moments where I genuinely did not know how I was going to keep going. Some people have given encouragement, prayers, meals, transportation, legal guidance, emotional support, financial assistance, or simply reminded me that I mattered when life became unbearably overwhelming. I will never forget those angels and blessings.
