Sometimes life hits all at once. My dear friend Shavon Striggles, a proud Marine veteran, devoted father, and tireless advocate for the unhoused has been dealt an incredibly difficult hand in just a matter of weeks.

He recently lost his roommate and close friend to suicide, suffered a major home disaster that left him with thousands in repair costs, and woke up one morning to find every window in his car shattered due to a surge in local vandalism.

Anyone who knows Shavon knows that asking for help is not in his nature, he’s usually the one giving it. But now, it’s our turn to lift him up.
