Stand with Shaun, Pam, and Hannah

Hi, my name is Mary, my brother-in-law, sister and their daughter had been through incredible challenging times yet they’ve remained caring and generous, despite their own struggles. It is admirable that they continue to help others despite facing so many hardships themselves. Shaun has been struggling with cancer, treatment and surgeries for sometime now. This is Shaun’s 2nd round with Colon Cancer and surgery. My sister Pam has faced cancer and has congestive heart failure.

Shaun has been fighting his 3rd round of cancer (1st round was in October 2022). He has been diagnosed as having a secondary malignant neoplasm of retroperiton with other partial intestinal obstruction, including signet ringcell carcinoma. This diagnosis was made by Dr. James Padussis, MD at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. Shaun is undergoing chemotherapy treatments, TPN nutrients that run through a picc line daily, as well as taking daily medicines to help with nausea, amongst other side effects. He also requires the use of a permanent g tube. His main goal is to attend his daughter's high school graduation.

I feel like it is time to pay it forward, rally up some friends, family and community to help provide support for Shaun, Pam and Hannah. The medical bills and household responsibilities have been stressing them out because of missing work due to illness. It would be nice to offer emotional support and also financial support for them during this health crisis.

Sometimes just knowing that others are there to walk alongside them, can lift some of the burden, your thoughtfulness and wanting to help them through this time will mean a lot to them and a lot to me.
