Hi, my name is Kit Wolfe. My son, Seth, and his partner, Kiara, had to have a life saving cesarean for their baby of only 31 weeks. Seth has been working in a temp to hire job and is waiting for his benefits to become active. At this point there is no medical insurance and when they applied for assistance, they were denied.
Kiara became so ill from the high blood pressure that it caused eclampsia and seizures that became life threatening to Kiara as well as the baby. It took several hours to stablize Kiara and the decision was made by doctors that the baby must be born by ceasarean.
After the emergency birth both mom and baby went to their respective ICUs. Kiara had been in ICU for 2 days, was then moved to postpartum for 2 days and then was released. 2 days after being released she had to be re-admitted to ICU as her blood pressure was in the danger zone again. To date, 7/3, she is still in the hospital. Kiara has only been able to do skin to skin one time with her baby, otherwise only being able to look at him.
Both Seth and Kiara are VERY stressed about all the medical bills piling up. The less stress for Kiara the better, considering her blood pressure.
The baby is now 9 days old and is doing well in ICU. It is realistic that the baby will be in the hospital for another 5-6 weeks.
Seth and Kiara are exceptionally hard working people who have never asked for any assistance before. In this time of need will you please consider donating any amount of money to help them?
