Update: Scott passed suddenly about 10 am central time. Wes and I are headed to Louisville and Carri as well. We need a place to stay this week as we clean out his house and make plans to move Amanda home. If there is anything you can do to help financially, we would be grateful. Hotels are expensive in summer there. Thank you for your prayers and for all of your generosity. We are sad to say goodbye to him, but we rejoice that he is in Heaven with Jesus today! ✝️
Llpdate: shortly after Scott went home on hospice, his colostomy began to work correctly giving him relief from his pain. He is still weak and frail and will not be able to work or care for his family. Since his colostomy is working, he will take chemo to help prolong his time with his family.
We are working on moving him closer to some family, but he cannot do that without a boost.
We have paid all of his monthly bills, but we have little left to do any more. And we will need money to move him whenever that time comes. Would you consider giving to help with this? We are over our heads as his family. Thank you for supporting and helping our brother in his time of great need! Pray for us as we seek God’s help and will moving forward!
UPDATE: Scott went home on hospice last Friday, however, some things have changed and we have a bit of good news. His colostomy started functioning and he is able to eat soft foods.
We are continuing to cover expenses for their rent, car payment, food, and any necessities. Currently, Amanda’s mother is staying at an airbnb and they have family helping to care for Scott…he is hoping to continue chemo treatment on the 14th. Please continue to pray for his family as they are very much in the fire right now! ✝️
Update: Scott has graduated to solid food. He was on clear liquids only for a few days. His pain is still more than he can tolerate and we are just praying he is out of the hospital soon so that he can start his treatment for the cancer. The infection is improving some, but he has so many things to overcome including that he has lost so very much weight! Please pray! If you can’t give anything, that’s ok! Just pray!
Our names are Sheri and Carri, and our brother Scott is facing some serious medical issues that none of us can begin to fathom.
On Saturday, May 11, Scott was working on a roof (one of his jobs) and by that evening, he would drive himself to the Emergency Room alone. He got in touch with our sister in Indy, and she went to him immediately.
Scott’s bowel was completely blocked by a large mass of cancer. It’s already stage 4, and we know the road ahead is going to be hard! Additionally, his intestine perforated causing a deadly infection to begin. His body is septic. Although he feels a bit better one day, the next day can be terrible. They have no family and little support in the immediate area and because Scott’s wife is disabled and his son is also developmentally disabled. His income is crucial.
Scott is the sole provider in his family, and because of the illness he is facing, we don’t know what is next. However, his rent, food, utilities, and other expenses go on. We are asking you to bless this family and help them to live while they face this hard time together. Please consider a donation to them!
