In September 2024, our brother Scott received the devastating diagnosis of glioblastoma—an aggressive and life-changing form of brain cancer. Just weeks later, Scott and his wife Kristen welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Benjamin, into the world. What should have been a time filled with pure joy quickly became a balancing act between navigating new parenthood and an unimaginable medical battle.

If you know Scott, you already know how he has shown incredible strength and resilience since his diagnosis. He has undergone multiple brain surgeries, as well as ongoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments. His journey has required hundreds of medical appointments and frequent travel to the University of Pennsylvania, as he continues to fight to keep this disease at bay.

As you can imagine, the emotional and physical toll has been immense—but so has the financial strain. Medical bills, travel expenses, time away from work, and the day-to-day costs of supporting a young family continue to add up.

Through it all, Kristen has been nothing short of extraordinary. She continues to work the night shift full-time as an Emergency Department nurse while caring for their young son and supporting Scott every step of the way. At the same time, she is also navigating the emotional toll of her mother’s cancer battle and treatment journey. Kristen is being pulled in so many directions yet continues to amaze us all and consistently show up with her signature gentleness, her strength, love, and grace.

It’s important to share that asking for help—especially financial support—is very much outside of Scott and Kristen’s comfort zone. They are the kind of people who show up for others, never the ones who ask for anything in return. In fact, it took a lot of encouragement and convincing from family for them to even agree to let us create this GoFundMe on their behalf. But right now, they need support, and we want to surround them with the same love, care and generosity they have always given so freely to others.

We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden on Scott and Kristen so they can focus on what matters most—Scott’s health, their time together as a family, and caring for baby Benjamin.
