Stand with Sandra: Battle Against Stage 4 Melanoma

Hi, my name is Candace, I am asking for your help to raise funds for My Sister in Law Sandra Hultgren Golino and My Brother Brian Golino.

July of 2023 their work was completely turned upside down. They received the news that Sandra was diagnosed with stage 4. melanoma. They were rocked , but with the love that they have for each other -both focused on treatment, being positive , going forward , being Sandra, she was worried about Brian being stressed!! Thats just who she is . She worries about and takes care of everyone else and now it’s time that we take care of her.

Sandra worked right up until she actually could not work anymore about 2 months ago.

The Melanoma has metastasized and she has been going through rounds after rounds of treatment to treat all of the metastasized spots.

She has been in the hospital several times and then gets discharged to home , their healthcare plan ,their co-pays for home care or any care at home is astronomical.

Sandra does have long-term disability and has applied for it, but has to be completely disabled for five months in order to receive those benefits.

My brother Brian has to work every day as they are now down to one income only so when he is away at work during the day, there is no one home to help take care of Sandra and make sure she is staying hydrated and eating, which both have been an issue. They do not have any family or friends that are close by, that are able to come assist with the care that she needs.

Saturday morning Sandra took a very bad turn after a week of radiation to Brain Mets. They had to call 911 and she has been in ICU since then.. Brian of course is beside himself and of course well all spouses would love to be at the hospital so they can be there and speak and discuss plans with the doctors and her team. He is unable to do so as he needs to be at work himself.

Anybody that knows my brother or Sandra would know that they would be the first two to say absolutely not to a GoFundMe fundraiser. My brother would be too stubborn and Sandra would say no no no we are OK.

They are not OK they need help. I am beside myself up here in Connecticut not being able to be there and help in.some way.

these two, they have an amazing connection an amazing love for each other, they grew up right around the corner from each other and Ansonia and ended up finding each other so many years later while they were 1200 miles apart. My brother will say 100 times over that he wishes he met her sooner, because his life is so much better with her in it . These two are so in love and deserve to grow all together!!!

Sandra is selfless and kind and generous, she is happy go lucky, She is a true real 100% wonderful human being.

The last thing anyone who going through a hell like this is to have to worry about not being paid at all for 5 months while waiting for disability, medical bills, home bills to be paid, lower paychecks because you have to leave work. These 2 , their plate isn’t just full, it’s crumbling under the weight of these burdens they have to bear.

We need Sandra to get the proper care that she needs,
