Sandie Bryant, renowned square dance caller, has always been the kind of person others can count on. If you need help, Sandie is someone who will do everything she can to be there for you.
About a week ago, Sandie suffered a brain hemorrhage and was admitted to an Intensive Care Unit in Erlangen, Germany. She has been in the ICU for one week and is currently in an induced coma while receiving critical medical care. The doctors are now planning to begin gradually reducing her sedation, pulling her out of the induced coma, but we know there is still a long road ahead.
Our small but very close family has come together immediately to be by her side and make the best decisions possible for her care. Unfortunately, insurance is not providing direct coverage for her treatment in Germany and we are facing substantial medical expenses. We have already incurred €15,000 in medical expenses, and those costs will continue as her ICU care progresses.
We are asking for help with Sandie's ICU care costs, in-country family support and ongoing recovery and rehabilitation expenses.
Most importantly, we ask for your prayers, thoughts, and support for Sandie as she begins this difficult journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with Sandie and our family during this uncertain time. We are deeply grateful to all of you.
Any donation will make a difference.
If you aren't able to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family would mean just as much to us.

**UPDATE 9/24/26**
THANK YOU
We’d like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who has contributed to our fundraiser for my mom. We are beyond blown away by the generosity and love you all have shown over the past several weeks. It is absolutely incredible and something we have cherished during the more difficult days.
Sandie has been completely taken off all sedation and heavier medications. She has already started to show many key signs of improvement and movement throughout her waking process. As of 09/23/26, she has not needed any additional ventilation assistance which is wonderful progress. Over the next couple of weeks, her doctors will be focused on her journey back to the U.S.
Your donations so far have helped us give her the best care possible but we still have a long road to get her safely back home which is why we are increasing our goal. Please continue sharing our fundraiser ‘Stand with Sandie’ as all contributions are greatly needed and appreciated. We truly could not do this without you all.
All our love,
The Bryants
