Our dear friend and coworker Samira has been detained by ICE since September 20th, and it has shattered our hearts. What hurts most is knowing she was only one court date away from becoming a legal resident after completing every requirement. She was right at the finish line.

Before coming here, Samira was a dentist in Venezuela, dedicated to helping her community. Her dream was to rebuild her career in the U.S., become licensed again, and one day serve this country as a dentist. She would be an incredible asset as a future citizen, educated, compassionate, hardworking, and committed to giving back.

In our office, Samira isn’t just a coworker, she is family. Her kindness, her smile, and her willingness to help anyone in need have left a lasting impact on all of us. Her absence is deeply felt every single day.
