Stand with Safiullah's Family in Their Loss
Donation protected
Safiullah Nazari was born in Kabul, Afghanistan on March 14, 1990. Tragically, just two years after his birth, his father, Asadullah Nazari, passed away from cancer. Safiullah, along with his four siblings, was raised by their courageous and strong mother, Fatima Nazari, during the hard times and civil war in Afghanistan.
Safiullah was the youngest in the family, loved by everyone, and always a happy child despite the limited opportunities. In 2021, Fatima was evacuated from Afghanistan along with Safi's sister and her three children. Unfortunately, Safiullah's brother-in-law was left behind and is still in Afghanistan, waiting to be reunited with his family.
Safiullah excelled academically, graduating at the top of his class from Habibia High School. He learned English and computer skills, which enabled him to secure an administrative job with DynCorp International, a leading U.S. government contractor in Afghanistan. In 2013, Safiullah moved to the United States under the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program. After struggling in New York, he relocated to Virginia in search of better opportunities.
Despite securing retail jobs and attempting further studies, the fast-paced life in the U.S. was overwhelming for Safiullah. He began to suffer from anxiety and depression, eventually stopping work and losing contact with friends and family. Last year, Safiullah sought professional help and spent six months in hospital treatment. After being discharged five weeks ago, he seemed to regain his positive spirit, reconnecting with old friends and appearing happy and healthy.
Tragically, on June 9, 2024 Safiullah was found unconscious near his building. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead by 6:50 PM.
We are raising funds to help cover Safiullah's funeral expenses and support the Nazari family during this difficult time. Your donations will go directly to the family to help them through this heartbreaking period.
Funds remaining after the funeral costs will be disbursed to the mother, as she is an elderly who does not work.
Janazah Prayer will be held on Friday, June 14 at 11:00 AM in Fairfax Memorial park 9900 Braddock Rd Fairfax Fatiha and Khatem at same day from 4:00 PM at Mustafa Center 6844 Braddock Rd, Annandale, VA 22003.
