We are still on strike and still on furlough, and we need your support.

Root & Rebound is a legal services organization that operates throughout California and South Carolina to support system-impacted people navigating reentry. On March 17, Root & Rebound staff members were unexpectedly and without prior notice placed on an unpaid furlough, scheduled to end on May 15. Since then, we have consistently tried to negotiate a return to work. However, management seems uninterested in bringing us back and has extended the furlough two times, most recently informing staff that the furlough will now continue through September 15. Management’s actions continue to show their disregard for our wellbeing, our work, and the communities we serve.

We launched this GoFundMe to assist staff meet their most basic necessities: rent, health care, groceries. While we thought this would be a short-term measure as we negotiated a return to work, it has turned out to be a significant lifeline as our furlough and strike continue.
