Help Robyn Fight Stage-4 Cervical Cancer
Donation protected
I want to share that my sister-in-law, Robyn D’Alessio, was suddenly diagnosed on January 26th, 2025, with Stage 4 Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cervical Cancer, an extremely aggressive cancer. Robyn is a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who goes above and beyond for her loved ones. This all started when Robyn was feeling increasingly weak, lethargic and extremely sick, forcing a trip to the Emergency Room. With her husband Edward right by her side, Robyn spent a week in the hospital, had three blood transfusions, multiple procedures, scans and tests, all leading to the discovery of a 10cm malignant tumor. To say they were extremely in shock and that their world turned upside down and inside out, is an understatement.
The urgency for immediate aggressive treatment has become eminent. Robyn’s first Chemotherapy treatment was February 13 at Jupiter Medical Center, an hour away from their home. Her treatment lasted 10.5 hours. She has struggled tremendously in the aftermath of the treatment. She has lost more than 30 pounds, become extremely weak and anemic, has muscle atrophy and extreme bone pain making her unable to walk on her own, and her kidneys are not functioning as they should because the tumor is pressing on the kidney ureters, inhibiting her kidneys to fully function. Her condition has required weekly iron infusions, hydration treatments, physical therapy sessions and nutritional consultations. She also requires home care to assist with walking and other daily living skills. Robyn’s next Chemotherapy treatment is scheduled for March 6th with at least four more aggressive treatments over the next 12 weeks with Radiation treatments to follow.
As a couple, they are overwhelmed by the multiple medical appointments weekly and treatments for Robyn, the non-stop medical bills they are receiving due to the lack of medical coverage for some trials and other medical procedures not covered by insurance, the hour commute each way to all doctor appointments and treatments, the loss of income because Robyn is unable to work and Edward is missing vital work days while caring for Robyn, driving her to all her oncology appointments as well as dealing with his own medical issues. Recently, Edward has been hospitalized four times, multiple kidney surgeries in the last six months, so both Robyn and Edward are truly dealing with severe medical and financial issues. The stress associated with Robyn’s aggressive Cervical cancer, Edward’s medical issues and the mounting financial burden caused by being unable to work, has led me to post this GoFund Me, in hope of receiving lots of love, prayers and support from family, friends and friends of friends. Financial assistance will allow them to make medical decisions to fight this horrible disease without having this financial burden hanging over their heads.
After coming to terms with all of this, Robyn and Edward have finally shared the news of Robyn’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis with family and friends over the last few days. The amount of care and love has been so comforting and supportive. They are so thankful and ask for as many prayers as possible. It is not easy for a couple who is married for just over two years to find themselves in a position like this, dependent on family and friends for support and financial assistance. Your thoughts and love are truly appreciated during this very difficult time. Robyn and Edward are extremely grateful to have you all in their lives and thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for our dear Robyn.
Please help however you can.
Thank you so much,
Jennifer
