This week, our family was shattered. My uncle Roberto was detained by ICE while working a side job—something he’s done countless times over the last 25 years to support the people he loves. He came to this country from Mexico with nothing but a dream: to work hard, help others, and build a better life. He’s never asked for much—just the chance to live and give with dignity.

Roberto has been more than an uncle to me—he’s been like a second father. He’s never married, he doesn’t have children of his own, but he has us—his chosen family. And we’ve never once seen him put himself before others. Whether it was fixing a broken roof, helping someone move, or quietly slipping money into someone’s hand when times were tough—Roberto was there. Always.

Now, he needs us.

We are raising funds to help cover his legal fees, potential bond, and any expenses related to fighting for his freedom and preventing his deportation. ICE may have taken him suddenly, but they can’t take away the love and community he’s built over decades.
