Stand with Rob & Carol Against Pancreatic Cancer

My name is Brenda Sturgis, and I am the cousin of Rob's wife, Carol.

I am arranging this GoFundMe for Rob Dalpee, a devoted 47-year employee of Maine Medical Center and an amazing and selfless husband and father. Rob is a great friend to all.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after an MRI on October 26th, after experiencing stomach pains for about 3-6 months.

Rob is a giver, always helping other people, and this diagnosis has been a bit of a shock for Rob and his wife, Carol.

They don't like to ask for help, but have found the out-of-pocket medical expenses are daunting.

There are things that are needed for Rob that insurance doesn't cover, and because Rob is finding it difficult to eat at this time, he has lost over 40 pounds in a month.

Any donation you can give would be helpful for medical expenses and nutritional supplements.

Rob is having his port put in on Tuesday, and chemotherapy will start on December 2nd.

Rob will be treated one day a week and will have a pump in for 40 hours each week after treatment.

He will be treated for 2 months. Surgery will be decided after treatment.

At this time, Dr. Dugan (New England Cancer Specialists) is saying that Rob's pancreatic cancer is treatable, and they believe it is at stage 2.

But we won't know for sure until chemotherapy is given a chance to shrink the 2-inch tumor.

It is my goal to raise enough money so that Rob and Carol can meet his out-of-pocket medical expenses for 2024 and 2025, with a bit extra for nutritional supplementation.
