Family and a friends here is an update from RJ’s Parents 9/25:
With heavy hearts, we want to share an update on RJ’s prognosis.
Our time in Mexico did not bring the results we had prayed for, but we are truly grateful for the blessings, friendships, and kindness we encountered at Oasis of Hope. Since returning home, RJ has shown signs of decline. He has lost his ability to walk and is now losing vision in his left eye.
We humbly ask that you continue to lift him in prayer—for peace, comfort, and still the miracle we all believe in.
I have made the decision to move to part-time work so that I can be by RJ’s side, but as a result, the bills are beginning to pile up. We have also decided to move forward with hospice Through it all, we remain deeply thankful for your love, support, and prayers—they are felt in every moment, and we are forever grateful.
With love,
Jennifer & Family

As many of you know, my son RJ has been fighting a long, difficult 5-year battle with GBM (Glioblastoma)— a rare, incurable, and aggressive form of brain cancer. When he was first diagnosed at the age of 16, his doctors gave him 18 months at best. But by the grace of God and RJ’s incredible strength, he is still here with us 5 years later.
3 months ago, after taking a serious fall, we were told that RJ had two new tumor growing right on the brain stem. After a series of test, RJ was given a prognosis of 6 - 9 months..
But RJ is a warrior, a fighter! Over the years he’s gone through several clinical trials, 3 craniotomy’s, multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, & several trips to MD Anderson & St Judes, he has never given up. He still has so much to live for — from seeing his sister get married, to watching his niece and nephew grow up and play sports, and create as many more memories as possible with his family and friends. He simply just wants to continue to live his life with joy and quality.
He just wants more time.. A chance! After ungoing even more chemotherapy & radiation this time around, his body is tired but he’s still fighting.
As long as RJ tells us he still wants to fight, still wants to live, and is still willing to seek out new treatments that might help him stay with us a little longer, we will fight alongside him & we wont give up!
First St Judes, then MD Anderson, the help they gave was incredible but we’ve ran out of options. A lifeline is all we’re looking for & we believe we found a facility in Mexico that just might give us that. However, after years of treatments, medication, travel, and trials, we have depleted our savings and exhausted our fundraising efforts. So now, we’re asking for your help.
From one parent to another, one human being to another — if you can find it in your heart to help give my son a chance to stay just a little longer, we would be eternally grateful. Every dollar, every prayer, every share of our story makes a difference.
Thank you all so much for your love, support, prayers and faith.
With love and hope,
Jennifer Guerrero
