I'm reaching out today to share Rick’s story and ask for your help during a challenging time in his life. Rick, a selfless and dedicated individual who has spent decades serving others, is now facing a personal health battle, and he needs our support.

For many years, Rick has worked tirelessly in the great outdoors—whether it's supporting Equine therapy or teaching outdoor survival skills, Rick’s work has always been centered around helping others. He's spent countless hours in nature, often exposed to the possibility of tick bites. Over time, these outdoor endeavors may have led to an undiagnosed health condition, and it is now suspected that he may have advanced Lyme disease.

Rick recently consulted with a Lyme disease expert, who believes his symptoms and history strongly point to Lyme as a possible cause of the struggles he’s facing. However, to confirm the diagnosis, Rick needs extensive and costly testing that is not covered by insurance. That’s where we come in.

For decades, Rick has served his community in countless ways. As a member of High Point Fellowship in Cedar Park, he led Bible studies, organized outreach initiatives, and volunteered to distribute clothes to the homeless. Rick has always been there for others. He’s also helped people who often go unnoticed—like those who need eyeglasses. He’s dedicated countless hours to ensuring that people have access to basic resources that many of us take for granted.

Several years ago, Rick also made a generous donation to Greater Love Baptist Church, funding an air conditioning system upgrade and helping with new signage to ensure people could easily find the church and access its ministry. Rick’s heart has always been about supporting others, and now, in his time of need, we’re asking for your help.

In addition to his community service, Rick has been a strong pillar of support for his family, including his stepchildren who have faced struggles with drug abuse. He helped build a firepit and podium for a local Narcotics Anonymous group, facilitating a safe and supportive environment for those on the path to recovery. His commitment to others has been unwavering, but now, Rick needs us.

Lyme disease is a serious illness, and the longer it goes untreated, the more severe the effects can be. Testing for Lyme can be expensive, and without it, Rick's health will continue to deteriorate. We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of this necessary testing and give Rick the answers he needs to begin his healing process.
