I am reaching out not only for one of my best friends and her family for financial support but also for prayers. Yesterday a very good friend of mine Rebecca Smith had a widow-maker heart attack, She coded in the ER, and was resuscitated for 15 minutes and shocked 4 times. She had two blockages at 100%. They were able to insert stents, while in the cath lab. She also has a device called an Impella that essentially helps her heart heal, and moves blood to and through the left ventricle because her left side was damaged from heart attack. They placed a central line after because she’s so tiny, and doesn’t have the greatest veins.

She has no pulse to her legs, so they are suspecting an underlying vascular disease that may have contributed to this, but not completely. She will need a bypass/stent placed but they cannot do this because she wouldn’t survive due to her hemodynamic instability.

Her kidney function is decreasing so she will potentially start CRRT which is a slow dialysis. Becky is a wonderful, wife, mother, friend grandmother and amazing human all around. She is always there for anyone and everyone no matter what they need. She loves with all her heart and cares for everyone that she comes in contact with. She is currently being transported to Rochester general hospital where she can receive a higher level of care that she is in need of. Her husband has been by her side and could use help for gas, bills, overnight stays and anything else he may need during this time. We thank everyone that is able to help no matter how big or small.
